Accreditation
The first, new stand-alone graduate school of education in New York in 80 years, Relay Graduate School of Education (Relay GSE) operates an Alternative Teacher Preparation program leading to a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and teaching certification. The New York State Board of Regents awarded Relay GSE a charter in February, 2011, to operate as an independent Institution of Higher Education. In addition to receiving its charter, Relay GSE holds both institutional and programmatic accreditation.

Relay GSE is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (267-284-5000). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Relay GSE is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). As a former component of Hunter College, which is accredited by NCATE, Relay GSE is accredited on an interim basis, to give it the opportunity to seek accreditation in its own right.
