Teacher U at Hunter College

Teacher U – a two-year training program designed to prepare teachers to drive student achievement in their classrooms – was successfully incubated at the Hunter College School of Education beginning in 2008. The program awarded master’s degrees to three matriculating classes totaling more than 350 graduate students while Relay GSE was applying for its own independent charter. In Fall 2011, Relay GSE matriculated its first class of more than 250 graduate students for its independent Master’s program based on the curriculum of the Teacher U program.

We are proud of our partnership at Hunter College and recognize the tremendous contributions made by its deans, department chairs, and faculty in the development of Teacher U, particularly Dean David Steiner and former Acting Dean Sherryl Browne Graves. Due to the recent launch of Relay GSE, we are no longer accepting applications to the Teacher U program. Prospective students interested in learning more about Relay GSE's current Master's degree program in New York may visit the Relay GSE Master of Arts in Teaching page for more information.

"Teacher U" is a registered service mark of Relay Graduate School of Education.
