Backward Planning from Standards

Backward Planning from Standards focuses on deepening knowledge of standards in order to understand the demands of the grade and content level and plan instruction accordingly. In this session, teachers will engage in an analysis of the knowledge and skills built into grade-level standards, determine how central concepts of the grade level relate to real-world situations, and strengthen their own content knowledge by building understanding of the standards and how learning progresses.
