Fostering a Trauma-Informed Classroom
Description
Fostering a Trauma-Informed Classroom is grounded in neuroscience and focuses on research-based strategies to promote student resiliency and foster a feeling of safety and belonging, which is foundational to student learning. In this session, teachers will get a chance to see and practice strong models of trauma-informed approaches that improve student achievement. This session was created in partnership with the Fugees Family, a nonprofit organization advancing educational justice for refugee and immigrant youth, and is based on promising practices at their schools.
