Rigorous Grade-Level Instruction

Description

Rigorous instruction prepares students to take on the cognitive lift in lessons so that they learn to think deeply. Through strategies like annotating, comparing, diagramming, predicting, presenting, testing, and more, combined with meaningful learning tasks, students become authentically engaged in lessons. To ensure students are doing the heavy lifting, teachers have to intentionally plan for rigor and create these opportunities. This series covers concrete techniques to plan for and promote rigorous grade-level instruction.
