Implementing Engagement Strategies focuses on how to create a highly engaging learning environment where students are actively thinking and participating. In this session, teachers get a chance to see and analyze various engagement techniques in action, including, but not limited to, wait time, turn and talks, and everybody writes, and then have a chance to practice them.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to...
- Plan and practice a variety of engagement techniques, including Wait Time or Everybody Writes, Turn and Talk, and Cold Call
- Practice pairing engagement techniques together to increase cognitive lift (for example, Everybody Writes paired with Cold Call)
