Using Exemplars to Guide Rigorous Instruction

Workshop
Academic Rigor
Weekly Data Meetings

Using Exemplars to Guide Rigorous Instruction focuses on setting a vision for student success by creating and analyzing an exemplar, which is an ideal student response to a standards-aligned academic task. In this session, teachers explore how to analyze and create a standards-aligned exemplar. Through this process, they deepen their own content knowledge, identify criteria for student success, and create a plan to support students with the task. Exemplars can be used to anchor instructional planning and when analyzing student work to ensure a high bar for student performance.
