A Message From Our President
Dear Relay Community,
We know that the last week has been very challenging as we learn more about COVID-19 and try to best navigate changes in our daily lives, personally and professionally. At Relay, we are closely monitoring the guidance and direction from the CDC and local officials to ensure that our students and staff remain safe and healthy. While we have no known cases of Coronavirus on any of our campuses to date, we have taken the following precautions:
- As of Monday, March 16th all campuses will shift classes to online instruction and we have asked our Relay office staff to work from home for at least the next two weeks.
- Our online learning team has stepped up to train other Relay faculty with the tools and resources they need to pivot their in-person classes seamlessly and effectively.
- We have cancelled all in-person events larger than 50 attendees and have asked that our staff and faculty cancel work-related travel until further notice.
We will communicate updates with our community on our public website, as well as our student-facing platforms. In addition, we’ll continue to share useful information with our community directly via email and will also include broader updates on our social media channels (@RelayGSE on all platforms) in the coming days and weeks. In particular, we’re eager to share resources for teacher educators, teachers, and parents, based on the best practices we’ve developed on this front over the last few years.
It’s not easy to continue the critical work of teaching teachers amidst this crisis, but at Relay we know our work doesn't stop. We are deeply grateful for the entire Relay community for the support and encouragement they have provided to each other and to our respective schools and communities. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at support@relay.edu.
With gratitude,
Dr. Mayme Hostetter
President
