Inclusive Instruction 2: Implementing HQIM with Diverse Learners
Description
This three-part workshop series equips educators with strategies to deliver rigorous, grade-level instruction for all students. In the first session, educators will analyze exemplars to clarify learning expectations. The second session focuses on increasing access for multilingual learners using the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) model. The final session emphasizes scaffolding instruction to address diverse learner needs while maintaining grade-level standards. Together, these workshops offer practical tools for fostering equitable, high-quality learning for every student. All participants will gain exclusive access to a curated AI tool, developed in partnership with Playlab, designed to support the implementation of the skills learned in the series.
What is a curated workshop series?
A set of workshops deliberately designed and sequenced to build skills in one topic, from the fundamentals to advanced techniques. Through community, discussion, and multiple opportunities to practice, teachers hone new strategies they can use right away.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze curricular exemplars to determine what students need to know and be able to do to successfully master the standard
- Apply data-informed scaffolds to lessons to provide access to on-grade-level learning
- Use the SIOP model to increase comprehensible input to make lessons accessible to multilingual learners
