K-12 Symposium 2015

Relay Graduate School of Education (Relay) is hosting its third annual K-12 Symposium on Saturday, November 14, from 8:30am – 5pm in New York City. The event, titled “Learn. Practice. Perform.” is an all-day professional development opportunity for principals, instructional coaches, veteran teachers, and experienced Teaching Exceptional Learners (TEL) teachers who wish to grow as facilitators and leaders of adults.

The K-12 Symposium is a unique event because it is an opportunity for practitioners who are not enrolled in a Relay program to experience Relay’s hands-on approach.

Attendees will start their day with a light breakfast where they can network with other leaders and teachers. After a short opening, they will then choose between one of two morning sessions: “Building Positive Professional Development Culture” or “Coaching Teachers to Teach Students with Attention Deficits.”

Next, attendees will be able to continue networking and reflecting on what they learned over lunch. There will also be a series of breakout sessions about full-time and part-time opportunities at Relay.

In the afternoon, attendees will have three sessions to choose from: “Exploring Instructional Leader Identity,” “Checking for Understanding,” and “Building an Inclusive School Culture.” For full session descriptions, visit the K-12 Symposium website.

The day will end with a closing session and happy hour. The first drink will be on us!
