New York (June 29, 2015) – Relay Graduate School of Education (Relay) today announced the 2015 cohort for its Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship, developed in partnership with Uncommon Schools. In total, 25 district and charter school leaders from across the country were admitted into the program from 12 states and the District of Columbia. Now in its second year, the Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship, based on Paul Bambrick-Santoyo’s acclaimed book Leverage Leadership, is a unique one-year program designed to help great leaders become extraordinary.

“There are so few structured opportunities for great principals and principal managers to become even better,” said Norman Atkins, Relay Co-Founder & President. “Relay is proud to support some of the nation’s most talented school leaders through our Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship. Each individual in this new cohort is already realizing strong results in their schools, and we’re privileged to work with them and learn from them in the year ahead.”

The Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship is a highly selective program that consists of practice and apprenticeship opportunities with Paul Bambrick-Santoyo, Relay faculty member and Uncommon Schools’ Chief Schools Officer 9-12. Key components of the program include a one-week summer intensive and four weekend intersessions throughout the year in Denver and New York City. Leaders selected for the fellowship are in the top 10% of schools in their local district or state and have led student outcomes and opportunities to double-digit gains. Upon successfully completing the program, participants have the opportunity to become a certified Leverage Leadership instructor to train other principals so that more schools and students may benefit from highly effective leadership.
