New Third Grade Math Training

Great Minds, the creator of the Eureka Math/EngageNY Math curriculum, has teamed up with Relay Graduate School of Education (Relay) to launch a training for third grade teachers using the curriculum. The pilot is designed for teachers who are either new to the curriculum or who are experienced with the curriculum and interested in deepening their understanding.

While most professional development sessions tackle broad themes and big-picture knowledge, this suite of trainings is unique in that it is perfectly in sync with the curriculum. Designed to be taken just before teaching each module, the free curriculum refreshes teachers’ content knowledge, shows videos of master educators executing key lessons in multiple classrooms, and provides authentic work samples that help teachers learn how to assess student understanding. It’s free, open to the public, and can be completed at any time and at any pace.

The training covers Grade 3 Module 1 and Grade 3 Module 2:

Eureka-301: Multiplication and Division I develops the knowledge needed to introduce multiplication and division to third graders using the Eureka Math/EngageNY Math curriculum developed by the non-profit Great Minds.

Eureka-302: Place Value and Problem Solving with Units of Measure develops the knowledge needed to tackle place value, problem solving, and units of measure with third graders using the Eureka Math/EngageNY Math curriculum developed by Great Minds.
