Relay Recognized for National Excellence in Educator Prep

Relay one of 366 total providers in the U.S. accredited under the rigorous CAEP Accreditation Standards to better prepare the teachers of tomorrow

We are proud to announce that Relay Graduate School of Education is one of 25 providers from 18 states to receive accreditation for their educator preparation programs by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the sole nationally recognized accrediting body for educator preparation in 2020. Their Teacher Preparation Standards are rigorous, nationally recognized standards that were developed to ensure excellence in educator preparation programs.

With 8,000 alumni, Relay is currently working with 3,700 teachers in 19 cities and more than 1,200 leaders nationwide. Relay is committed to using practice and feedback to become the place where a new generation of continuously improving, results-focused, diverse individuals can fulfill their destiny in the world’s greatest profession.

Relay was first granted programmatic accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)--now CAEP--in 2013. Relay is now one of 366 total providers in the U.S. accredited under the rigorous CAEP Accreditation Standards to better prepare the teachers of tomorrow. Educator preparation providers seeking accreditation must pass peer review on five standards, which are based on two principles:

1. Solid evidence that the provider’s graduates are competent and caring educators, and
2. Solid evidence that the provider’s educator staff have the capacity to create a culture of evidence and use it to maintain and enhance the quality of the professional programs they offer.

In its review, the CAEP Accreditation Council found that Relay met all five standards with no areas for improvement or stipulations. This exceptional performance speaks to the quality of Relay's programming and its commitment to continuous improvement.
