Professor Jennifer Trapp is entering her sixth year at Relay Graduate School of Education as Clinical Practice Director in Georgia, where she leads work focused on developing strong, equity-driven educators. A Connecticut native, she began her teaching career in Newark, New Jersey, as a Teach for America Corps Member before moving to Atlanta to teach middle school ELA with the KIPP network. She later returned to Newark as a founding educator at North Star Academy Vailsburg, part of the Uncommon Schools network, and then rejoined KIPP Atlanta as an Assistant Principal and Director of Teacher Effectiveness.
Since joining Relay in 2018, Professor Trapp has served in multiple instructional leadership roles, including Deliberate Practice Coach, Manager of Operations and Instructional Coach, Senior Instructional Fellow for the Connecticut campus, and Assistant Professor of National Clinical Practice. Her expertise includes teacher development, culturally responsive instruction, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI to enhance feedback and support educator growth. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Master’s Degree from Relay GSE. She holds teaching certificates in New Jersey and Georgia.

I believe that teaching is both an art and a skill that improves through intentional practice, reflection, and the use of innovative tools. My goal is to empower educators to provide high-quality instruction for every student by fostering culturally responsive classrooms, building strong relationships, and embracing new technologies that enhance teaching and learning
